Exposure of employees
Approximately 4,000 people are engaged in radiation work in healthcare.
In radiation work, the dose limit of an employee during five years is 100 millisievert (mSv), so the permitted average annual dose is 20 millisievert. The annual exposure due to the use of radiation to employees not in radiation work at the workplace may not exceed 1 mSv. In addition to radiation safety, the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority Finland also monitors the amount of exposure to employees.
