Radiation in Europe - Eurdep

Above there’s EURDEP radiological situation map. Please note that the unit of dose rate is nanosievert per hour (nSv/h), which is a thousand times higher than in the STUK’s "Radiation Today" Web page, where the unit is microsieverts per hour (µSv/h).

The background radiation in Finland normally ranges from 0.05 to 0.30 microsieverts per hour, ie 50–300 nanosieverts per hour.

The EURDEP map and the results are fetched from the server of The Joint Research Centre (JRC). STUK is not responsible for the operation of the map widget.

EURDEP (EUropean Radiological Data Exchange Platform) is a network for the exchange of radiological monitoring data between European countries. These measurements originate from some 5000 stations in 38 European countries.
