Approvals related to measurements
The approval for the dosimetric service and the methods of measurement used for individual monitoring has to be applied in writing from the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority.
Dosimetric services which offer measuring services for the individual monitoring of employees must apply for a separate approval decision from the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority for both the dosimetric service itself and the methods of measurement used for individual monitoring. Similarly, a separate approval decision must be applied for radon measuring instruments and methods which are used to determine the radon concentration of a workplace or dwelling.
The abovementioned approval decision must be applied for in writing with a free-form application from the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority. The application must demonstrate that the requirements of Guide ST 1.9 are met based on, for example, type inspection data, testing data and other reliable data indicating the qualities of the meter. The Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority approves other radiation meters for the purpose of use presented when the safety licence is granted or the practices inspected.
