Non-ionizing radiation is used in laser devices, sunbeds and many beauty care devices. It is important that the operators are familiar with the characteristics of the devices they use, the risks associated with the use of radiation and any health hazards caused by radiation to ensure safe operation. The operator is responsible for the safety of the use of radiation. The Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) monitors the use of non-ionizing radiation.
