Kaj Westerbacka, 43, started as director of the Administrative department at STUK on 1 February 2016. He will hold the position until the end of STUK’s strategy period that is until the end of 2017.

Vesterbacka has a Master of Arts degree in physics, and he has worked at STUK for 19 years, since 1997. Before his current position, he was the Head of Information Management. Prior to that, Vesterbacka ran the current Monitoring and Situation Assessment unit in STUK’s department in charge of environmental surveillance.

The administrative department takes care of STUK’s financial and human resources administration, procurement, matters concerning legislation and regulations, management system, international projects as well as information management and real estate services.
