The application and hearing procedures of the licence are presented in detail in the Nuclear Energy Act and Decree. STUK makes a statement on the application for the operation licence. A safety assessment is attached to the operation licence. As regards the issues to be verified by the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, STUK takes a stand on the fulfilment of the requirements set by the legislation. The requirements for granting the operation licence are prescribed in the section 20 of the Nuclear Energy Act.
