Procurement opportunities with the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) may arise, in particular, for specialized equipment for the purpose of radiation detection or analysis, and for scientific and technical expert services related to nuclear safety evaluation.

STUK is a central government unit of Finland and, as a rule, all acquisitions by central government units are subject to competitive tendering. Finnish legislation on competitive tendering (Act no. 348/2007 on Public Procurement) draws on European Community Directives 2004/18/EC and 2004/17/EC on procurement procedures and on the World Trade Organization’s agreement on public procurement. The purpose of these provisions is to allow open competition, equal and non-discriminatory treatment of tenderers and the prudent use of government resources.

All calls for tenders of STUK above the national public tender threshold (EUR 30000) will be published on the official electronic notice-board for public procurement in Finland (hereinafter 'HILMA notice') and, as regards calls for tenders above the EU threshold (EUR 135000) the same contract notice will automatically be published on the online version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union, Tenders Electronic Daily (hereinafter 'TED notice').

Information and documentation regarding STUK's procurement procedures above the EU threshold conducted in the English language are available on this page. For STUK's procedures conducted in the Finnish language, please refer to the procurement page of STUK's Internet site in Finnish.
