Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP)

Aim of the study

The Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) was established in 1991 to monitor identified pollution risks and their impacts on Arctic ecosystems. The AMAP is a group working under the Arctic Council. One of the key pollutants in the AMAP programme is radioactivity.

Implementation

STUK is responsible for the radioactivity data in the Finnish National Implementation Plan.

Dissemination and exploitation of the results

A 3rd AMAP Radioactivity Report will be completed in 2009-2010. The data is stored in an AMAP database
