An expert system for the safety and security authorities to be used in radiation measurements and identification of radioactive materials (VASIKKA)

Aim of the study

The aim of the project is to develop an expert system for the safety and security authorities to be used in radiation measurements and identification of radioactive materials.

Implementation

Expert software is designed and implemented for measuring radiation and identifying radioactive material. Additional information is compiled to support the evaluation of the radiological situation. Prototype equipment is also assembled for the radiation measurements.

Dissemination and exploitation of the results

The assembled prototype equipment will be ready for commercialisation and for operational use by the safety and security authorities. The availability and performance of the new equipment and software will be communicated in scientific journals.

Collaborators

The project has no outside collaboration partners, but the results of the project will be presented to the safety and security authorities during the project.
