The UVA-derived immunosuppression in the mice modelAim of the studyThe aim of the project is to study the UVA-derived immunosuppression in the mice model. ImplementationIt has been previously shown that the solarium-derived UVA irradiation enhanced the metastatic capacity of mouse melanoma into the mouse lungs. The aim of this study was to determine whether the solarium-derived UVA radiation was able to induce the immunosuppression in solarium-treated mice, and to repeat the pilot assay, where a mild UVA-derived immunosuppression was observed. The CHS assay was utilised to determine the UVA-induced immunosuppression. The specific C57BL/6 mice were housed at the Viikki Laboratory Animal Center, University of Helsinki, Finland. The ethical evaluations of experiments were reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Use and Care Committee of the University of Helsinki and The State Provincial Veterinarian Office of Southern Finland. Dissemination and exploitation of resultsThe results will be used in the revision of the peer-reviewed article and its publication process.
