Information on radiation and nuclear safety is exchanged in international co-operation and in co-projects. STUK has established its position as a member of the international expert community.

The abbreviations above are the ones used internationally by the radiation and nuclear safety authorities in question.

STUK has important safety co-operation also with the Russian nuclear power plants of Leningrad and Kola. These are the nearest foreign nuclear power plants not far away from EU's eastern border. Since 1992 STUK has actively had both bilateral and multilateral safety co-operation with the Leningrad and Kola nuclear power plants.
