Radiation in the environment

Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK) monitors and studies the radioactivity in the environment using various methods. Radioactive substances are transferred into man directly from the environment or through the food chain.

STUK issues annually the results of the surveillance of the environmental radiation. The summary of the 2008 results is available in the report STUK-B 103
