Obligations of suppliers
Manufacturer and supplier are responsible for demonstrating safety and compliance with requirements of products. Compliance can be demonstrated either by an assessment and/or inspection made by an notified body, or through documentation which shows that the operations needed to show compliance have been made (manufacturer’s declaration and technical documents).
When the product fulfils all the necessary requirements, the manufacturer or its appointed representative, working in the European Economic Area, must prepare a declaration of compliance and attach the CE mark to the products.
