Chromosome aberration analysisChromosome analysis is used in assessment of dose in cases where overexposure to ionising radiation is suspected and personal dose meter has not been available. The analysis may also be performed to ascertain dose meter value. A blood sample is required for the chromosome analysis with a method that determines the yield of dicentric chromosomes in blood lymphocytes. Dicentric chromosomes are aberrations typically induced by ionising radiation. The need for the analysis is evaluated at Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in case-specific manner. It will be performed if a reasonably high exposure is suspected. Small exposures are not revealed by the technique. The price for analysis in 1 414,63 euro (VAT 0 %). The results will be obtained within one week.
